1. Customization complications
One of the Salesforce CRM’s strong points is its adaptability. However, a highly customized Salesforce Classic might make the migration a little more challenging than otherwise.
The problem can be countered by first fully documenting all the customizations that have been made in Classic. The next step would be to find the corresponding solutions in Lightning and set those up for an easier migration process.
2. Declining performance health
Post migration, issues that affect performance could crop up. For example, pages could take longer to load and be less responsive. These problems could lead to further issues like navigation difficulties impacting the user experience.
Prior to the migration, it is important to do a Salesforce org health assessment and find areas that are causing roadblocks or other obstructions to the workflow. Data quality also needs to be analyzed and improved before the migration.
3. Functions overload
Salesforce Lightning is great in its variety and quantity of customizable features. However, this assortment of choices makes it difficult to choose which functions are actually required and which ones are not. In many cases, companies might go overboard with the customization tool, causing more disruption than improvement.

Just because Lightning is available and is the new and improved Salesforce CRM, there is no need to rush into adopting it. Once the migration to Salesforce Lightning is complete, some new users might find the system quite overwhelming and not be able to start using it right away.
A phase-wise rollout with only a few key users utilizing the platform at first can help during the buffering period to get everyone on board gradually.

6. Teams lacking readiness
And of course, some team members could simply not know how to work with Lightning and start falling back with their work because of that.
Do a readiness check before adopting the new CRM and have training sessions for the teams based on functions they will require most when using Lightning.
