How can we give access to a Customer Service profile to edit Salesforce records?
Hi all,
I have shared order record with other users with read access (owd is controlled by parent) but now I want only customer service profile can edit order record. How can we give them access?

Hi Ravi,
In this case, you need to give Edit access to order object on customer service profile. From this, you are giving access at metadata level.
Since your OWD setting is set to control by parent and user has read access at record level then you need to provide edit access to users those are associated with customer service profile at the record level. For this, you need to add the users to the group and create sharing rules to give edit access to them on order object.

Hi,
go to the OWD:
From Setup, enter Sharing Settings in the Quick Find box, then select Sharing Settings.
Click Edit in the Organization-Wide Defaults area.
For each object, select the default access you want to use. If you have external organization-wide defaults, see External Organization-Wide Defaults Overview.
To disable automatic access using your hierarchies, deselect Grant Access Using Hierarchies for any custom object that does not have a default access of Controlled by Parent.
NoteIf you are increasing the default access, such as from Public Read Only to Public Read/Write, your changes take effect immediately. All users get access based on the updated default access. Sharing recalculation is then run asynchronously to ensure that all redundant access from manual or sharing rules are removed.

Just give the edit access through OWD sharing setting.
