Time fields use the TIMEVALUE() function similarly to DATEVALUE(). And to get the current time, use the TIMENOW() function.

Time fields use the TIMEVALUE() function similarly to DATEVALUE(). Say you want to set a time field default value to 5:30 PM. Use the international date format (ISO) in a formula for the field's default value. And to get the current time, use the TIMENOW() function.
