Email value is saved without parentheses (label) when using DML

Contact c = new Contact (lastName = 'Test', accountId = acc.id, email = email);
insert c;

Contact cDb = [
SELECT

FROM Contact
WHERE id = :c.id
][0];

System.assertEquals(c.email, cDb.email);
