How to Customize Salesforce Login Page
Introduction
Here we are going to learn about how to customize the domain name and login page. We will also understand how to change our domain name, Salesforce logo to any custom or standard logo, and the background color of the Salesforce login page. We can change it according to our suitability.
Basic Information
- Before starting we have to firstly decide our domain name, logo, and background color of the Salesforce login page.
- Salesforce accepts images in the form of “.jpg, .png, .gif “ up to 100kb. So before inserting an image you have to note this point.
- The maximum image size accepted by Salesforce is 250px by 125px.
- Now our login.salesforce.com page looks like this:
How to Change the Domain Name
Firstly you have to log in from the system administration org and then go to set up and search “My domain” in the quick find box and then click on “My domain”. Now you are able to see one window with the name “My Domain Settings” and in My Domain Settings, you will see My Domain Details. In My Domain Details, you will see your org current URL and current domain name.
For example, in my org ‘Current my domain URL - mnc59-dev-ed.my.salesforce.com and My domain name - mnc59-dev-ed ‘.
Now click on the “Edit” button on My Domain Details and enter the domain name according to your suitability and then click on check Availability. If there is already present your domain name in Salesforce so you have chosen a different domain name and if there is no availability of your domain name then you will see green color on the Check Availability button.
So here I choose “My domain name - thunderstorm-dev-ed “ and according to my domain name Salesforce generates one URL i.e “Your chosen new my domain URL - thunderstrom-dev-ed.my.salesforce.com“.
Now click on the Save button. As you click on the save button you will get one pop-up page, then click ok on that pop-up page. Now Salesforce will do some provision to complete the process and it will take time to wait for some time. Once the process will complete Salesforce sends one email on your email id. Then refresh the page and you will see your provision process completed.
Now finally just click on “Deploy New Domain” and hence your new domain is created. Now you have to login once again into your org.
Policies
Salesforce provides some standard policies in which one is a login policy checkbox. If you click that checkbox then you won’t be able to login from “Login.salesforce.com”. You can only login through your custom domain.
How to Change Logo and Back Of Salesforce Login Page
Now scroll down the My Domain page and you will see “Authentication Configuration”.
Now click the Edit button on the Authentication Configuration page. Then one form will be open and you have to fill in some information there.
- On the login page type select standard
- Check the checkbox of Authentication Services
- You have to choose a logo file that you want to upload.
- Now select the background color which is applicable only for the left side.
Now click on the “Save” button of the Authentication Configuration Page.
Hence our whole customization is done here.
Now log out and go to your login page and you will see your changes.
Here my login page looks like this with a new domain name, logo, and background color.
I hope this information is helpful for you.
Thank You!
