How one can check the current/Active salesforce instances?
When we open any salesforce org we see the URL address something like this (https://ap2.salesforce.com/…..).So how can you check the active instances?For example here instance is “ap2” .

Salesforce provide various status(like your’s ap2) you can check all the available status in the link.
