Saleforce Create Field on Custom Object Using REST API
So I want to create a new field on a custom object using the Salesforce REST API. Is this possible? After a lot searching in documentation and on Google I couldn't find an answer. It seems like maybe Salesforce has other API's which can accomplish this like the metadata API. I'm interested in hearing those answers as well.

Yes, you can create a field via Metadata API. See the bottom section of this article for the XML definition:
