    Hi Avnish,

The difference between Lightning and Classic Version Developer Edition in Salesforce is :

    • Sales accounts, campaigns, contacts, leads, opportunities, personal accounts, price books and products have been re-organized and given a modern, visual appeal in lightning version.
    • Sales reps  can create tasks and events, log calls, send emails, and track those activities efficiently in the Activity Timeline workspace in lightning experience.
    • Enhanced calender in lightning experience.
    • Opportunity Kanban, a visualization tool for opportunities, has been added in ligthning experience. Reps can review deals organized by each stage in the pipeline. With drag-and-drop functionality, sales reps can move deals from one stage to another and get personalized alerts on key deals in the process.

    Hi,

Salesforce Classic: It's the platform which we are using from long time as standard, Salesforce just named to classify between the new User Interface/Experience and old User Interface/Experience.

Lightning Experience: It's the new, slick user interface and the Lightning Component framework is a UI framework for developing dynamic web apps for mobile and desktop devices. Lightning makes it easier to build responsive applications for ANY DEVICE. The initial release of the new user interface is geared towards sales reps with an intuitive interface that allows sales reps to work more efficiently. The dashboard and charts in Lightning Experience behave much like Wave where changes in the chart recalculates in real time. While the new interface is easy to enable, It may not be suited for everyone as there are some missing functionalities at this point of time. In the future releases salesforce would eliminate those gaps, but keep safe harbor statement in mind.

    2) Also you can get a good knowledge about the Qualification of ORG to be with Lightning Experience from Trail heads

    Hope this helps.

While Salesforce Classic feels somewhat dated compared to the rival CRM systems, the Lightning Experience is the updated UI with a focus to display the data visually, rather than relying on text and numbers. Even though the both versions share the same features, the new version stands out for the following functionality:

New design for ease of use. Salesforce Lightning has a modern,  efficient and smart interface. All users can connect to their accounts across any devices. The requested information is surfaced for each one of them. That ensures the streamlined process and makes workflows more intuitive.
    There are two key improvements:
    - cool features from the mobile experience became available to desktop users,
    - Note’s “autosave” and the rich-text capabilities can ensure a better experience.
Smarter views. That feature can help users to focus on the more important things first. Simply put, information will be displayed more dynamically and visually.
More columns on dashboards. The dashboards are not restricted to three columns. The components are animated and allow to get more data-driven decisions at a glance. The users can view open/closed sales amounts as well as the closed ones.
Home Page can be customized and display necessary information at first to help you to be more efficient. Besides, it can be reached wherever you need to see the overdue tasks, leads, opportunities and potential issuers.

    THanks
