    Basically, lead conversion means converting your potential clients into existing customers, accounts, contacts, or opportunities.With the information from the lead you're converting, Salesforce creates an account, a contact, and an opportunity. Salesforce would associate the campaign member record with the new contact if the lead were also a campaign member. As soon as the lead is converted, it becomes a read-only record.
