Hi,
Static resources allow you to upload content that you can reference in a Visualforce page, including archives (such as .zip and .jar files), images, style sheets, JavaScript, and other files.

Static resources gives you permission to upload content(zip files or jar files etc) that you can reference in a Visualforce page.

Static Resource :
- It is managed and distributed by Lightning Platform, which acts as a content distribution network for the files.
- You can reference a static resource using the $Resource global variable, or used as a parameter to functions such as URLFOR().
