    Salesforce Report Types
    1. Tabular reports
Simple Excel type tables which provide a list of items with the grand total
    2. Summary reports
Similar to Tabular reports, but also have functionality of grouping rows, viewing subtotals & creating charts
    3. Matrix reports
Two-dimensional reports which allow you to group records both by row and column
    4. Joined reports
Multiple blocks showing data from different reports based on same or different report types
Another important point to note here is that, only Summary reports and Matrix reports can be fed as data source for dashboards. Tabular and Joined reports cannot be used as data source for dashboards.

Can we mass delete reports in Salesforce? Of Course we can mass delete reports in Salesforce. The option to mass delete reports can be found under Data Management in Setup.

On tis document it says it SOAP supports: describeSObjects(), query(), retrieve(), search(). No delete.

You can try the standard tool first: http://releasenotes.docs.salesforce.com/en-us/summer14/release-notes/rn_analytics_mass_delete.htm

    Hello,

Based on the presentation following styles can be used to generate report in salesforce.

Tabular Report : The basic form of presentation of user data is tabular report. It has simple listing of data without any subtotals. One can use this report if the presentation is simple.

Summary Report : Summary report is little bit advanced report as compare to tabular report having grouping of information with subtotals.

Matrix Report : Matrix report has groups of data based on columns and rows. This report can be used to represent comparison between related total with total by row and total by column.

Join Report : Join report has the more advanced way to represent data. This report will allow you to relate different blocks and show them in single report. Each block has unique attributes like name, filters, columns, data, and summary fields.

    Thanks.

In Salesforce we can Create 4 types of report formats

Tabular Report: The basic form of presentation of user data is the tabular report. It has a simple listing of data without any subtotals. One can use this report if the presentation is simple.

Summary Report: Summary reports are similar to tabular reports, but also allow users to group rows of data, view subtotals, and create charts.

Matrix Report: Matrix reports allow you to group records both by row and by column. These reports are the most time-consuming to set up, but they also provide the most detailed view of our data. Like summary reports, matrix reports can have graphs and be used in dashboards.

Join Report: Joined reports let you create different views of data from multiple report types. In a joined report, data is organized in blocks. Each block acts like a “sub-report,” with its own fields, columns, sorting, and filtering. You can add a chart to a joined report.

You can delete mass reports in salesforce. In Setup, under Data Management > Mass Delete Records, select Mass Delete Reports then enter search criteria to find out reports it will display all records those meet your search criteria. Select the reports you want to delete.
